Kelly’s Penelope the star of social media: This is what dad Kvyat thinks!
Rarely does a day pass without 4-year-old Penelope making an appearance on social media. She’s often seen in heartwarming photos with her mom, Kelly Piquet, and sometimes with her stepdad, Max Verstappen, Kelly’s partner. Fans particularly enjoy the adorable videos where Penelope playfully sneaks into the room while Max is busy sim racing.
Just last Sunday, three-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen was racing online with friends, and during his Twitch stream, Penelope stole the spotlight once again. The little star is quickly gaining attention on social media. However, noticeably absent from these moments is her biological father, Daniil Kvyat.
Penelope, the daughter of former Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat—who previously raced for Red Bull Racing and now competes in the World Endurance Championship—often appears with her mom and stepdad. Despite her frequent social media presence, Kvyat isn’t bothered at all, as he shared in a conversation with GPblog.
Kvyat Frequently Spends Time with Penelope
When asked if Penelope is in the spotlight too much, Kvyat quickly dismisses the concern. “No, no,” he replies. “I also spend a lot of time with her. I just choose not to post about it on social media. That’s my decision.”
He adds, “Kelly and I have been separated since 2019. It was a choice we made a long time ago. Since then, we’ve both moved on with our lives and are free to have relationships with the partners we choose.”
Kvyat concludes, “I have my own relationship with Penelope, and Kelly has hers.”
