Injury issues for Port Vale to ponder ahead of Carlisle game 1

Port Vale’s Injury Concerns Ahead of Carlisle Clash

Port Vale manager Darren Moore has revealed several players are facing fitness doubts ahead of their upcoming home clash with Carlisle United.

Moore confirmed that Tom Sang and Ethan Chislett, who missed the draw with Bromley due to injury, are back in training. “Sangy and Chizzy trained today and joined up with the squad for the first time, so it’s great to see them back,” Moore said.

However, George Byers’ availability remains uncertain. Moore explained, “We’ll make a 50/50 decision on George in terms of where he is at and whether he joins back up with the group. It’s crucial that once George returns, he stays fit.”

Loanee Benicio will miss the match, with Moore adding, “Benny is still on the treatment table, but we’re hopeful of positive news in the next few days that he can return to training.”

Aside from captain Ben Garrity, Moore noted that the rest of the squad is in good shape, saying, “Looking at the incidents over the weekend, we didn’t have too many knocks or injuries, which is great.”
