The unpredictability factor adds an exciting dimension to this matchup as fans speculate on which team will rise above inconsistency.

The first representative assembly met there later that year. This assembly became known as “the House Of Burgesses”. It was made up mostlyof wealthy landowners called “burgesses”. They were electedby votersfrom each countyin Virginia. In orderfor peopleto votein electionsin Virginia, the votershad togive propertyas collateralfor votingrights. This meantthat onlyrichpeoplecould vote. Only white mencould be burgesses, and onlywhite menwith propertycould vote. So womenand Native Americanswere excludedfrom political lifein Virginia, and even poorwhite menwerenot allowedto participate. Jamestownwas located near Chesapeake Bay,in what is now Virginia. It was chosenbecause it seemed likeagood placefor farming, and becauseit was faraway enoughfrom Spanish coloniesso that it would not be easyfor themto attackit. However, the site proved unsuitablefor growing tobacco,a cropwhich becameimportant forexportsto Englandlateron, inpartly becauseof its popularitythere, but alsobecauseit provided amajor sourceof incomeforsome Virginianswho grew itand solditto Englandand elsewherein Europeas wellas Africaand Asia(where it wasusedas currency). We need version control software (VCS). There're many choices such as Subversion (SVN), CVS etc., but Git is gaining popularity because it is distributed VCS rather than centralized VCS such as SVN/CVS etc.. We'll see why later... # Concepts & Terminologies There're several concepts related with VCSs such as repository / repo / working copy / index / commit etc., but I won't discuss them here since they're very similar across different VCSs... What's different about Git? It provides us `snapshot` mechanism rather than `change tracking` mechanism used in SVN/CVS etc.. In SVN/CVS etc., you store your changes incrementally so that you can track changes over time... If you want current state at some point in time then you'd have no choice but download all previous versions incrementally... For example if you want version v100 then you'd need v99 + change v99 -> v100... You'd need all previous versions anyway... With Git you don't care about incremental changes since Git provides snapshot mechanism... When you create new commit then your current state is stored as snapshot so if you want version v100 then you just get v100 directly without downloading anything else... Another difference is how Git stores data... It stores everything as file system objects such as blobs (files), trees (directories), commits etc.. And these objects are stored inside `.git` directory... $ ls .git/ HEAD config description hooks info logs objects refs branches HEAD.lock index packed_refs objects packed_gitlinks $ tree .git/ .git/ ├── HEAD ├── branches ├── config ├── description ├── hooks/ ├── info/ │   └── exclude ├── logs/ │   ├── HEAD │   └── refs/ │   └── heads/ │   └── master.log ├── objects/ │   ├── info/ │   ├── pack/ │   └── refs/ │   ├── heads/ │   │   ├── master -> c90ce17ab16a8e766cb6da68dc20bb8c0167a27f │   │   └── test -> fb8e9fd75528cf8e33e70f08382e04195aa33273 │   └── tags/ ├── packed_gitlinks └── refs/ ├── heads/ │   ├── master -> c90ce
